The eco way for mass production
For my master’s project, I decided to explore the issue of packaging waste on a larger scale. Big cosmetics manufacturers have the resources to change the market and offer more sustainable packaging solutions. In this case, I explored designing a line of cosmetics packaging with the possibility of purchasing a product for which you can later only buy and change fillers.
The packaging design project focuses on items of various consistencies, such as powder, water, gel, cream, and foam, among others. The packaging must preserve the product, prevent leaks or spills, and be simple for the user to use.
Using a triangular form for cosmetics packaging can provide a variety of advantages, including, ergonomics and sustainability as the form requires less material for manufacturing and takes less space when packaged.
Not every packaging can be refilled unfortunately, however some is better than nothing. And the best approach to effect change is to make the customer feel at ease with it. The packaging can achieve that by being versatile to different cosmetic changes which can be accustomed to the manufacturer's or buyer's needs and wants.
